Volunteers l Supporting Churches

Please read carefully the following guidelines on volunteering at the shelter before submitting your application.

Volunteers are vital to the mission of the Night of Peace Family Shelter, Inc. We treasure our volunteers and could not operate without the support of the faithful
persons who volunteer at the shelter.

Volunteers are needed for the following:

  • Preparing and serving dinner
  • Organizing supplies
  • Working on shelter newsletter
  • Tutoring/ homework help for children
  • Tutoring/GED help for parents
  • Fund-raising committee
  • Mass mailings
  • Volunteer coordination

Please be aware that we are always interested in meeting persons who would be interested in joining our Board of Directors.

VOLUNTEER GROUPS

We welcome groups that would like to prepare and serve dinner. Please note that a maximum of four persons are allowed to work in the kitchen and volunteer groups cannot exceed six persons.

Please note that religious groups are very welcome from any religion or denomination. We welcome any and every community group. Groups are not permitted however to engage the guests in discussions of religious beliefs or to hand out any literature or to invite guests and their children to religious events while on shelter property.

Note: It is not permitted to take photographs of shelter guests or to arrange to meet them outside of the shelter or to communicate with them by email or telephone even when they appear willing. This is our covenant of honorable conduct.
